Mission Statement Explained……
…Promote and declare the gospel of Jesus Christ
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is just that. It is the good news about Jesus Christ! The good news as the Bible states in John 3 vs. 16 is essentially that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ) should not perish but have everlasting life. We believe that this gospel is so important and vital to the lives of everyone that we take seriously our responsibility as a church to use whatever methods are necessary to promote and declare this wonderful gospel.
…Be a church where passionate prayer, impacting preaching and teaching and effective praise & worship takes place
As a body of people we understand the value of communicating with God and being willing to listen to Him communicate with us. We believe that this communication which is called prayer needs to be done from the heart, with passion and hiding nothing. God requires us to be transparent with Him from the heart (Psalm 51 vs. 6) so as such we believe in the importance of praying with enthusiasm, respect and faith.
We also do our best to be a church where whatever we say from the pulpit or the class room or whatever educational format we use, be words that are from the Lord and are words that impact us to do better and to reach higher. Words matter and we believe that God wants us to get the best out of the life that He gives to us and as such whether it is we want to understand with clarity and respond in obedience to whatever God says to us because we know it is and will be for our good.
With a team of anointed and gifted Worship Leaders and Musicians we aim to devote ourselves to leading people into an encounter with God. Worship and Praise are not just limited to a musical genre however we know and understand the importance of worshipping God and singing praises to Him in a musical setting. The effect of anointed Worship and Praise where the Holy Spirit empowers God’s people means that lives can be changed, emotional and physical healing can take place and people can come into a new or deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
…Be a people who make every effort to be the people that God wants us to be; reflecting His love, power and holiness to everyone we meet, recognising that whilst we have in no way reached the pinnacle of our Christian journey, we strive each day, week, month and year to be better ambassadors of Jesus Christ
Whilst living this Christian life is challenging, it is also extremely rewarding in many ways. However we recognise that living the life of a Christian means that whilst we are empowered and strengthened by the Holy Spirit and living under the grace of God, we are required to do our part in order to allow the life of Jesus Christ to live through us. We will not always get things right but as the saying goes, “if at first you don’t succeed, try, and try again!” We want to be people who make such a positive impression on others that they will see in us God’s unconditional love for everyone and God’s standard of holiness and a life of devotion to the Lord.
…Be a church, impacting our local community, ministering to the needs of people of all ages and ethnic groups of Aldershot and the surrounding areas. Working with other Christians in Aldershot to make known the love of God.
We are proud to be a part of the Aldershot Community. This community is a diverse and growing and we believe that we have a Godly mandate to serve Aldershot and the surrounding areas. We aim to minister to and help not only those who are members and visitors of our local church but those who have no connection with our church or even any connection with the Christian faith.
We are planted here is Aldershot to show our community, alongside other Christian churches, the love of God the Father, the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship and communion and work of the Holy Spirit. According to our capabilities this should be and will be administered to all irrespective of ethnicity, age, sexuality, educational background or political persuasion.
…Be a people who are committed to Godly excellence and improvement in every area of our lives.
We finally aim to be a people that desire to do better. Our Vision is Building Better People and we believe that whilst there may be many that are more skilled, articulate, knowledgeable, erudite or even experienced than ourselves in many ways, we understand that we do not compete against others as if we are in some form of competition but we challenge ourselves to be better people than we were yesterday, or last week, last year or even 2 years ago. Better husbands or wives, better friends or family members, better brothers or sisters. Better sons or daughters. Better leaders, employees or students. Better Christians or members of the Community.
We believe that this can be attained when we aim to commit ourselves to doing things with Godly excellence. That does not mean perfection, however it does mean having a mindset that says I can do all things through Him (Christ) who gives me the strength (Philippians 4 vs. 13) and it does mean having an attitude of humility and willingness to offer ourselves to God in service of Him and others (Ephesians 6 vs.7)
